FoodCares Boston program provides access to free fresh healthy food, educational resources and nutritional programming and support for families. Volunteers will help unload food deliveries, sort food, bag groceries, manage attendance and distribute food bags to participates. Volunteers will also participate in community outreach such as, distributing literature within community and attend community events to promote BCW health and wellness initiatives. 


Tuesdays : W.e.FIT 

Nurtury Learning Lab

Volunteer hours: 5:00pm -7:00pm 

W.e.FIT/Women’s Empowerment Fitness is a network of Boston based wellness professionals delivering fitness classes, workshops and wellness opportunities citywide. The core of the program is to provide comprehensive access to high quality fitness programs coupled with individualized and group health coaching that focuses on weight reduction through exercise and nutrition education to help assist women achieve optimum health for themselves and their families. Volunteers will work alongside fitness professional, setup space for fitness class, greet participants, mange site attendance, help promote program and participate in fitness class. Possible childcare activity leader if licensed. Volunteers must be willing to have a background check for this site. 

Tuesdays and Wednesday: Healthy Moms Healthy Kid 

Curtis Hall Community Center

Volunteer hours 1:30pm – 3:30pm / 5:30 -7:30pm

HMHK engages mothers and children through fun elements of fitness classes such as Zumba, Shape & Tone, Strength Training, nutrition classes, cooking workshops and parenting development training all to provide the tools for learning life skills and self-sufficiency towards optimum health. Additionally, there are free children playgroups and every week. Each family will receive 10lbs of fresh healthy groceries every week. Volunteers will help prep grocery bags, help with cooking classes, participate in fitness workshops, and participate in children playgroups.
