FoodCareBOSTON is an initiative of Baraka Community Wellness to assist families that might experience food insecurities.
FoodCareBOSTON is a program that provides free fresh healthy food for hundreds of families we serve within public and subsidized housing that are experiencing food insecurities specifically within the neighborhood of Jamaica Plain and the housing developments of Mildred Hailey Apartments(formerly Bromely Health) and South Street Development as well as Dorchester residents through Epiphany School.
Our concern for the children and the facts drove us to implementing this new initiative.
Our DIstribution is in the communities of Jamaica Plain, Roxbury and Dorchester MA.
- Boston Housing Authority Mildred Hailey Apartments
- Boston Housing Authority South Street Development
- Epiphany School
- BCYF Curtis Hall Community Center
In 2016 we distributed 54,380 pounds of Fresh Health Food to 1380 family members including 835 children in need.
We realize that we can not help everyone but we will do our best in helping those that we are able to and look forward to continuing this service beyond the summer months to serve a broader population in need. Please share our new development with your network, your peers and anyone that you believe might benefit from FoodCareBOSTON either as a participant or as a partner to help deepen our impact.
