Engage. Educate. Empower.
Healthcare costs are spiraling out of control and lifestyle behaviors coupled with socioeconomic challenges as well as prevalent health disparities within our communities are the primary cause. 75% of our $3 Trillion dollar national healthcare expenditures are directly related to chronic diseases that are largely preventable. Specific to the mission, BCW provides wellness solutions for at-risk individuals and communities by developing and implementing programs and community-wide initiatives that address the social and behavioral determinants of poor health outcomes with a focus on lifestyle and behavior, food access and education, and environmental contributors.
Baraka Community Wellness (BCW), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, headquartered in Boston, MA designs and manages comprehensive and integrated evidence based wellness solutions for healthcare agencies, nonprofits, employers, their workforces and the communities that they all serve. BCW implements wellness solutions that deliver measurable results with lasting positive health outcomes which reduce risk, enhance health, increase productivity and reduce healthcare costs.
Baraka Community Wellness’s sole purpose is to provide sustainable wellness solutions that engage, educate, and empower individuals and communities so that a person’s zip code, color or economic status aren't a determinant of health.
